me and my brothers: Giovanni and Antonio
Roberto Rigon was born in Schiavon in the district of Vicenza on 7th June 1929. He was the second of ten children in a farming family. Since a child he has had a passion for drawing which continued to grow stronger until, at the age of eighteen, he enrolled at the Institute of Art in Nove, in the district of Vicenza, where he was a pupil of Giovanni Petucco and Andrea Parini. He then worked for many years in ceramic factories,
maturing and refining his skills both as a modeller and as a painter until he was able to realise his dream of opening his own workshop which can now be found in Via Pietà, 29 in Pozzoleone (Vicenza).
The materials he uses for his sculptures are: fireproof clay, melted and oxidized metals which are used in various techniques; while for his paintings he uses oil on canvas. For many years he has exhibited his work, participating in numerous manifestations both national and international at Gualdo Tadino at the international competition of ceramic art; at Certaldo the Italian 1990 competition for visual art Beato Angelico where he received as a prize a travelling exhibition to the following cities: Trento, Montalbano Elicona (MS), Rome and Florence.

Also at Gualdo Tadino he participated in numerous other competitions where he received excellent acknowledgement from the public and from the critics. Now his works make up part of the many private collections and two are permanently displayed in the Museum of Ceramic Art in Nove.
